What to watch on Sunday, September 6...
MINISERIES PREMIERE, 8pm, PBS
Arthur & George
A three-part adaptation of Julian Barnes’s novel, partially based on a true early 20th century crime. The series kicks off with Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, donning his own detective’s cap to prove the innocence of a man convicted of animal mutilation.
SEASON 2 FINALE, 9pm, TNT
The Last Ship
The crew sends out word that they’ll be delivering the cure at ports nationwide in “A More Perfect Union.” Plus, the first 1,000 civilians in line will also receive a free Nathan James baseball cap sponsored by First Third Bank. But lingering Immune factions do their darndest to muck up our heroes’ plan.
In “The Octopus,” Bunchy’s nuptials are disrupted by an attempt to lure Mickey out of hiding. I’m choosing to believe that attempt comes from a literal octopus, probably one wearing a fedora and chomping a cigar and brandishing three Tommy guns at once.
Masters of Sex
“High Anxiety” finds Johnson overseeing Masters’s surrogacy program, mostly for the opportunity to shoot stern glances while tapping on a clipboard.
Justine takes desperate measures to repel a sneak attack in “The Battle for Red Hook,” while Eph and Setrakian square off against an old enemy, and Nora and Fet set off on a crucial mission.
The group signs up for some toe-tapping tutelage in “Ballroom,” where Stuart and Violet both catch the teacher’s eye. Off the dance floor, Ash hopes to kick things with Jess up a notch.
