Out of focus TV LCD set and remote control in man's hand isolated over a white background. This story seems to be in stasis until the CRTC makes the cable companies offer pick-and-pay by December (at least one woman I know has said sheÕs holding off on the minimum package until she can get pick-and-pay Òbecause I canÕt live without my HGTVÓ). Taking the skinny and then adding tiers to it, as it exists now, would be idiotic - way more expensive than just buying one of the packages that already exist. So the only real acid test would be when pick-and-pay is up and running. Getty Images
