What to watch on Thursday, September 3...
SEASON 3 FINALE, 9pm, ABC
Joss barely has time to enjoy her newly restored freedom before learning that a job opportunity could pull Harry away from her. Granted I only know what I know about this show from these blurbs, but I’m starting to think Joss really ticked off the writers’ room this season. Meanwhile in “Goodbye Girl,” April awakens to her true feelings after Scotty splits and Marc vanishes, Vivian’s malady worsens, and a bizarre gift sparks Joss’s curiosity.
The contestants split into two teams for paintball shootout in “Gunn and Heid,” with the choice of fabrics on the line. Guest judges Kelly Osbourne and Lisa Perry aren’t fully convinced they haven’t wandered onto an episode of Community by mistake.
SEASON 6 FINALE, 10pm, ABC
Andy prepares to tie the knot with Sam in “74 Epiphanies,” but she hits a few hurdles along the way because that’s just what happens when you live in a TV show. In other life changes, Traci gains a new role while Oliver regains his old one, and 15 Division bids adieu to two of its own.
Under the Dome
In “Incandescence,” the Dome’s calcification process ramps up and endangers everyone under its influence. I double checked, and yes, that logline is for Under the Dome and not for Denis Leary’s character on Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll. Elsewhere, Barbie and Julia hurry to save his child from the Kinship, and Big Jim squares off with an increasingly batty Hektor.
10pm, Comedy Central
Forrest and his dad recreate William Tell’s famous marksmanship demonstration, and later, he reluctantly brings his son’s birthday wish to fruition. After all this filial bonding, Forrest hops into a rowboat to ascertain whether life is, in fact, but a dream.
Alex, Noma, and Michael encounter an obstacle on the road home, while Claire makes a decision that could endanger Vega. Elsewhere in “The Seed of Evil,” Julian tries a new tack with Gabriel while Arika and Gates grapple with the cost of survival.
Johnny goes incognito to defuse a brewing gang war in “The Wires,” and he’s been saving the perfect fake mustache for exactly such an assignment. Meanwhile, Jakes and Charlie scheme to take over Germaine’s business, and Mike susses out Briggs’ plan.
“DRONEZ: The Hunt for El Chingon” follows the exploits of two hip young journos on the trail of an infamous drug lord.
Johnny fixes Gigi up with someone he considers more age-appropriate in “Hard Out Here for a Pimp.” In less potentially skeevy developments, Bam and Rehab devise a new style of music.
Comedy Bang! Bang!
While Scott debuts the trailer to his new sports movie, his personal possessions come to life and set off on a journey of discovery. Guests A$AP Rocky and Jamie Denbo can’t decide which of those developments is more heart-tuggingly inspirational.
“Mother’s Day” finds Lina bailing on her holiday brunch, possibly opting to instead follow Scott Aukerman’s personal possessions on a journey of discovery.
