What to Watch Tonight: The Debut of Hotwives of Las Vegas, the Season Finales of Clipped and Proof, and the Return of Punk'd on BET

What to watch on Tuesday, August 18...

SPECIAL PREMIERE, 12:01am Pacific, Vimeo On Demand
Crash Test
Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel adapt their Upright Citizens Brigade show to the digital screen in this comedy special, which finds the two schlepping an audience aboard a party bus and touring L.A. Along the way they’ll rope in a bunch of their comic chums, including Aziz Ansari, Aubrey Plaza, Rob Corddry, and Thomas Lennon. Some mild felonies may also be committed.

SERIES PREMIERE, 12:01am Pacific, Hulu
Hotwives of Las Vegas
Today’s other streaming service debut from the mind of Paul Scheer is the follow-up to reality show spoof Hotwives of Orlando. The Sin City-set installment stars Casey Wilson, Tymberlee Hill, Angela Kinsey, Keegan-Michael Key, and more.

9pm, CBS
Enough of these streaming shenanigans, let’s see what’s happening on America’s Serious Broadcast Networks. Vicious rats seizing control of a ship that storms the Massachusetts coast, you say? Yes, that sounds about right. Elsewhere in “The Cheese Stands Alone,” Mitch strikes a deal with Reiden Global to save the life of his terminally ill daughter, which does not sound nearly as kooky as piratical rats.

9pm, TNT
Rizzoli & Isles
A champion Rottweiler is the top suspect in the murder of a dog trainer, because apparently the zoopocalypse has begun to spread across all of television. Meanwhile in “Sister Sister,” Maura has an odd encounter with Kent.

9pm, Syfy
Face Off
“Frightful Fiction” tasks the artists with creating detailed face makeup based on literary mashups. Perhaps they’ll draw their inspiration from such spooky classics as Jane SCARE, To the FRIGHThouse, and SLAUGHTERhouse-Five wait darn it that last one doesn’t really work does it.

Real Husbands of Hollywood
After Kevin fails to donate his kidney, he’s snookered into believing Nick died as a result in “Suck My Trick.” Luckily, his guilt is nothing a large cash outlay can’t assuage.

“Reunion” finds the gang returning to their younger days at their high school reunion. Back at the barbershop, Joy keeps Lonnie company while he awaits a date. FUN WHAT TO WATCH TONIGHT PROCESS FACT: I initially mistyped “barbershop” as “barbership,” and now I’m imagining a show about a frigate that tours the high seas offering haircuts to sailors. It would have, like, a red-and-white striped mast and everything. I am not on drugs.

Carolyn’s worlds collide in “Tsunami: Part Two,” forcing her to make a critical decision. Also at a crossroads is Turing, who goes under the knife for a risky procedure.

10pm, USA
Playing House
In “Knotty Pine,” Maggie, Emma, and Tina attend a woodworking class with a strapping instructor, and I will spare you good people all the bawdy woodworking jokes that immediately came to mind. Elsewhere, Mark and Tina confront some awkward truths.

10pm, FX
As Barry gears up for an important mission, Jamal takes extreme measures with extensive consequences. Meanwhile in “Zanjir,” Leila doubts Jamal’s ability to safeguard the family.

10pm, NBC
Hollywood Game Night
Scott Wolf, Mary Lynn Rajskub, David Walton, Mena Suvari, Kate Flannery, and David Giuntoli are the contestants, and Rajskub only has until the third ad break to determine which of them is the mole.

10pm, MTV
Another death wallops Emma in “Ghosts,” but this time it’s only because she hit the Red Wedding episode in her Game of Thrones catch-up. Later, a secret from the past reemerges.

The hidden camera series that pranks celebrities is back, with a new twist: This time, you’ll get to peek behind the scenes as the pranks are conceived and executed. Authorities fear that revealing such dangerous information could lead to a rash of people trying to convince Kevin Hart his car got booted.

10:30pm, Comedy Central
Another Period
Lillian joins her new gang for some fun in the sun in “Rejects Beach,” while Beatrice makes a new acquaintance of her own in the person of Thomas Edison. Elsewhere, Blanche receives an enigmatic letter from the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory while Garfield tries to keep the family together.

12:30am, Comedy Central
The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail
Joe Mande, Lauren Lapkus, Beth Stelling, and Natasha Leggero perform in “The One With the Coco,” and Jonah and Kumail discuss their favorite bands.
