Four peaceful years have since passed with Ragnar as Earl. The time has come for an unlikely alliance to band together in pursuit of a common goal–a new raid on England. Four years have passed.......Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) and Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) now have two sons with another child on the way.
Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) has been busy building Ragnar’s fleet of ships.
A new serving maid catches Ragnar’s attention, which makes Aslaug jealous.
Aslaug tells Ragnar that she is a Volva, a Nordic seeress. She reveals to him that their unborn child will have “the eyes of a serpent.”
Siggy finds Rollo (Clive Standen) passed out on the ground. She dumps icy water on his head.
Siggy holds a hot knife in her hand and tells Rollo to make a decision, either pull himself together or put himself out of his misery. Rollo grabs the hot end of the knife.
King Horik (Donal Logue) and Jarl Borg (Thorbjornn Harr) arrive, and the three begin to make ready to raid the west.
Ragnar forgives Rollo, but forbids him from the raid.
King Horik lets Ragnar know that he no longer wants Borg with them when they go raiding. He tells Ragnar to tell him so.
Borg tries to convince Rollo to join with him, and sever ties with Ragnar once and for all.
Rollo punches Jarl in the nose.
Athelstan (George Blagden) trains with Ragnar, and tells him that he will accompany him on the raid.
Siggy tells King Horik that she knows Ragnar's strengths and weaknesses. To prove her loyalty to King Horik, and to prove that she can be trusted, she sleeps with him.
The boats leave and Rollo stands on a cliff, throwing rocks into the water in disgust.
The Vikings take to the open sea, and battle vicious waves from the storm.
They finally reach land, though with left ships than they had when they set sail.
Soldiers attack the Vikings with arrows, and they snap into shield formation.
By the end of the battle, the Vikings had killed most of the soldiers. They celebrated in victory.
Ragnar and Athelstan question two captured soldiers about their location. The soldiers tell them that they have landed in Wessex.Wessex is ruled by King Ecbert, and Athelstan tells Ragnar that he is just like him.
King Ecbert receives word that the Vikings have arrived.
