USA Network has pulled the plug on drama “Covert Affairs” after five seasons.
The decision came after the show delivered lukewarm numbers in its most recent run, which wrapped in December. USA has a high volume of new and returning drama series on tap for this year.
“Covert Affairs” was created and exec produced by Chris Ord and Matt Corman for Universal Cable Prods. The actioner starred Piper Perabo as a CIA mastermind. Christopher Gorham, Peter Gallagher, Nicholas Bishop, Hill Harper and Kari Matchett co-starred.
USA reps declined comment on the cancellation. The cabler’s inhouse research guru (and noted TV fanatic) Ted Linhart bid farewell to the show via Twitter on Tuesday evening.
