The revolution will be televised, but a week later. The Season 1 finale of USA's Mr. Robot, originally scheduled to air tonight, Wednesday, August 26, is being pushed back a week due to content similar to the tragic shooting of a news crew this morning in Virginia. Here's the statement from USA:
"The previously filmed season finale of Mr. Robot contains a graphic scene similar in nature to today’s tragic events in Virginia. Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight’s episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time."
Having seen the scene in question prior to USA's announcement, I can say that the network made a good decision given the content. Occasionally, the worlds of real life and television intersect, and this happened to be one of those times. Good on USA for making the right decision. The network will re-air last week's episode instead.
Mr. Robot's Season 1 finale, "eps1.9_zer0-day.avi," will now air Wednesday, September 2 at 10pm on USA.
