TNT Renews The Last Ship for Season 3

TNT has renewed the Michael Bay-produced action series The Last Ship for Season 3, the network announced Tuesday. The series, which stars Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy),Adam Baldwin (Chuck), and Rhona Mitra (Strike Back), will be back for 13 episodes in 2016.

Based on William Brinkley's novel, The Last Ship chronicles the aftermath of a global disaster that nearly decimated the entire population. In Season 2, the crew disseminated a cure developed by Dr. Rachel Scott (Mitra), but their arrival on land was met with opposition. And to make matters worse, they had to square off against the Immunes, a group of naturally immune survivors who wanted to take over the world. The Season 2 finale airs September 6.

The drama is currently basic cable's top scripted summer series among adults ages 24 to 54. If you've missed any of Season 2, TNT is making the episodes available through video on demand, TNT's website, and the Watch TNT mobile app. New episodes will be added one day after they air on TNT.
