Like the original series, The X-Files “revival” miniseries was shot in and around Vancouver and B.C. Here are three spots you’ll want to notice as you watch the show.
One of the biggest story components in the new X-Files series is a UFO crash site. Whether that site has anything to do with Area 51 is unknown as of yet, but we know where the scene was shot: at the Wilderness Way Adventure Resort Park in Ashcroft, an hour west of Kamloops. The site has desert-like conditions and could stand in for New Mexico.
The first episode of the series is entitled My Struggle and stars Community actor Joel McHale as a conspiracy-prone pundit that agrees with everything Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) has been saying for years. Two locations — a hospital parking garage and a place dubbed “dark space” — were shot in North Vancouver, at the North Shore Winter Club and at Stage #3 of the North Shore Studio.
Terminal City Club
One of the first scenes shot in Vancouver for the series’ reboot was set outside the Terminal City Club on West Hastings. The scene involves Mulder, Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) and Joel McHale’s character.
