The Flash Casts Tone Bell as Iris's New Boss

Iris West (Candice Patton) will be getting her third new boss in only two seasons on The FlashAccording to Variety, comedian Tone Bell will be joining the second half of the show's sophomore season as Scott Evans, "the brash new editor at Central Picture News."

The job title is fancy, but it's also a bit cursed. Two of Iris's previous bosses have met their deaths since the young reporter joined the news force. Mason Bridge (Roger Howarth) was killed in Season 1 by the Reverse Flash after he got too close to discovering the truth about Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh). Meanwhile, Eric Larkin (Tom Butler) was killed during a confrontation with Earth 2's Dr. Light (Malese Jow).

The danger of the job won't stop Evans though. According to the Variety report, he will push Iris and her colleagues to dig deeper into their story to tell the world what is really going on in Central City. Sounds like Iris is going to have to play a double agent if she wants to get ahead at work without revealing the identity and hobbies of her best friend Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team at STAR Labs.

Bell will have a multi-episode arc on the show. His NBC sitcom, Truth Be Told, was canceled in October when the network reducing the series order to 10 episodes.

The Flash returns from winter hiatus on Tuesday, January 19 at 8pm on The CW.
