What a great start to the NY superhero team up! I was already a fan of the individual shows from Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. This series brings their stories together. The team is faced with the challenge of stopping The Hand, led by Alexandra Reid (Sigourney Weaver). The Hand's whole mission is to return to K'un-Lun, and they feel that the Iron Fist is the key. To help them capture Danny Rand, Alexandra resurrects Elektra Natchios as the Black Sky. As the Black Sky, Elektra is not suppose to remember her life before death. But the more she goes up against Daredevil, the more the memories start to return. Eventually, Elektra remembers everything. She captures Danny Rand, takes out Alexandra, and claims control of The Hand. Now it's up to Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage to save him. They finally rescue Danny, but not before Elektra used him to open the secrets of K'un-Lun. I've talked to a few people who liked Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage, but didn't like Iron Fist. A lot of people weren't big fans of his series either. I explained to them that they were too caught up in the comic book lore. The comic book Iron Fist is not the same as the Netflix version. This version has not finished his training, so there was no way he could match the comic book's greatness. Even though he talked a good game, he was not equipped with the skills to back it up. I looked at Danny Rand like he was comic relief. Even in his own series he made me laugh when he would tell someone that he was The Immortal Iron Fist. The way Luke Cage treated him was the exact same way I would have. There were things he was still learning. I believe that by season 3 Iron Fist he will reach his full potential. The Defenders was really good, and I look forward to season 2.
