It's too bad The CW's iZombie has Robert "Looks Like He Fell Out of a Nicholas Sparks Movie" Buckley wrapped up, because the network may soon be home to an actual Nicholas Sparks property. The network is developing a series based on Sparks' 1996 novel and the popular 2004 film The Notebook, according to Entertainment Weekly.
According to The CW, the potential project, which will be executive-produced by Sparks should it move forward, "will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina."
The CW's Mark Pedowitz told reporters at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Tuesday that the series will likely not feature the incredibly sad Alzheimer's storyline featured in the book and the film.
