Showtime would very much like you to watch The Affair, its intricately drawn drama about the psychological and emotional fallout of an affair between a man (Dominic West) vacationing in Montauk for the summer with his family and a woman (Ruth Wilson) trapped by her grief over a devastating past event that's made the small town feel suffocating. How much does Showtime want you to watch it? Well, starting today, Friday, September 25, the pay cable network has released the Season 2 premiere, which officially debuts on the streaming service Sunday October 4 at 10pm, for free on YouTube (relax, it's the TV-14 version). However, if this is your first time contemplating watching The Affair, I would recommend starting at the beginning and not just jumping in head first here like this marketing ploy suggests you should.
If you would like to see the sexified version of the premiere (I've embedded the YouTube version below), it's available on the Showtime Preview app on Smart TVs, and Showtime subscribers can also watch the episode via Showtime On Demand, Showtime's website, or the Showtime Anytime app, available through Apple TVs and Roku devices. Subscribers can also access it through Hulu and Sony PlayStation Vue, while non-subscribers can sample it for free via all those places I just mentioned.
In Season 2, the series will expand from two perspectives to four to include those of Cole (Joshua Jackson) and Helen (Maura Tierney). I won't spoil which perspectives you see in the premiere, so you're just going to have to watch it to find out!
