And for Syfy's next trick, the network will make a new season of The Magicians appear! Yep, after just three episodes, Syfy has handed out a second-season order for the new drama, with 13 new episodes due out in late 2017.
The series is based on the books by Lev Grossman and follows a secret school devoted to teaching select members of the post-college crowd new tricks in the art of spellcasting and hocusing and pocusing. But with drugs, sex, and murder in play, The Magicians is aimed at a slightly older crowd than that franchise with the kid with the goofy glasses.
John McNamara (Aquarius) and Sera Gamble (Supernatural) executive-produce the show, withJason Ralph, Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, and Hale Appleman starring. Syfy says The Magicians averaged 1.7 millions in Live+3 ratings, which is pretty solid for the network.
The Magicians airs Monday nights at 9pm on Syfy. What do you think of the show so far?
