SundanceTV Renews Aaron Guzikowski's 'The Red Road' Starring Jason Momoa for Season Two

Jason Momoa may not have starred in the second season of "Game of Thrones," but the big man will be back for "The Red Road" when it returns in 2015. SundanceTV's second wholly owned original scripted series about two communities at odds with one other was picked up for a second season today.

The show stars Momoa as a criminal who forms an uneasy partnership with a local cop (Martin Henderson) after an incident involving the cop's wife (Julianne Nicholson). "The Red Road" was created by "Prisoners" scribe Aaron Guzikowski. James Gray ("Two Lovers," "The Immigrant") directed the pilot.

"'The Red Road' tells the tale of a shocking conflict which plays out in a very specific place -- the land that the Native Americans live on literally oozes danger," said Sarah Barnett, SundanceTV President. "It's a show about what happens when you try to bury the truth, and the devastating impact of that. We’re proud of this tremendously talented cast and can’t wait to see where creator Aaron Guzikowski takes this story in season two."

SundanceTV has a number of original series in the works. "Rectify" -- SundaceTV's first original series -- returns on June 19th and "The Honorable Woman" starring Maggie Gyllenhaal as well as "One Child" will debut at some point in 2014. "The Red Road" wrapped up its first season on April 3rd.
