Two Studio 10 audience members were taken by ambulance to hospital on Monday after a camera jib, a small crane, fell in the Pyrmont studio.
The Daily Telegraph reports they were examined for minor injuries and released the same day.
“Obviously everyone was shocked, but the team moved quickly to ensure everyone was OK,” a source said.
An advertorial was played coming out of the break so crew could assess their condition. Jessica Rowe was was seen continually holding the hand of one audience member, trying to comfort her.
It’s the first time such an incident has made news for the TEN show, which has a Live audience daily, including senior patrons. Such mishaps are a rarity in Australian productions.
Last year audience members attending TV3’s New Zealand’s Dancing with the Stars suffered minor injuries after falling backwards from tiered seating.
A TEN spokesperson said, “We are in constant contact with both audience members to ensure they make a full recovery and we are covering all associated costs.”
