This morning I traveled into the future and now I can confirm that Showtime's Sunday night fall lineup in 2016 looks a lot like its Sunday night fall lineup in 2015. I can also confirm that Joshua Jackson was elected president and James Van Der Beek cried about losing to Pacey yet again. Wait, no, I just made up most of those things. Here's what istrue: Homeland and The Affair will return next fall as both series have been renewed by Showtime.
Homeland, which underwent a bit of a reboot and relocated to Germany this season, will return for Season 6, while steamy extramarital drama The Affair, which introduced two more perspectives—including that of Jackson's character—to the show this fall, will return for Season 3. The news comes just hours after Homeland scored three SAG Award nominations, including best drama ensemble and an individual acting nod for Claire Danes.
But for the record, I would absolutely vote for Joshua Jackson if he ever eyed a political run. I just wanted to clear that up.
Which renewal are you more excited for? What do you hope to see happen next season?
