I've got some less than happy news for Showtime's Happyish. The network has pulled the plug on the Steve Coogan-fronted series after just one season, according to Deadline. The comedy, which was originally ordered to series in the summer of 2013 with the late Philip Seymour Hoffman attached to play the lead, was poorly received by critics and drew very low ratings over the course of its 10-episode season. After Hoffman's untimely death, the series was repiloted with Coogan taking over the lead opposite Kathryn Hahn.
Happyish is the first series since David Nevins took over the network that hasn't received a second-season pickup.
