Scandi-noir political thriller, Blue Eyes, debuts at SBS On Demand this Thursday.
The 10 part series follows the rise of the fictional right-wing nationalist ‘Security Party’ in the lead-up to the national elections, turning the spotlight on two women on opposite sides of the political spectrum.
Originally titled Blå ögo, it first aired in Sweden in 2014.
Waitress Elin Hammar (Louise Peterhoff) is recruited as the chief of staff by Minister of Justice Gunnar Elvestad (Sven Nordin) following the mysterious death of her predecessor, while Sofia Nilsson (Karin Franz Korlof) turns destructive after her mother Annika is murdered after delivering a politically-charged speech in the town square.
Dubbed as the Swedish Borgen, Blue Eyes is a taut, contemporary series which weaves together commentary on Neo-Nazi terrorism, political intrigue and family drama.
Thursday, 20 April at SBS On Demand.
