News presenter Natasha Exelby has parted ways with ABC News, less than a month after her blooper went viral.
There were conflicting reports over whether Exelby had been taken off-air after being caught not paying attention on air.
But News Corp cites news director Michael Reid as having told her she was being taken off air as a direct result of the missed cue.
Today it reports she cut ties with ABC News management on Wednesday amid speculation over alleged “behavioural issues.”
An ABC spokesperson said, “Natasha Exelby has chosen not to do some casual shifts she was rostered for. Natasha was not taken off-air because of a ‘blooper’ and ABC News has been clear that we’re open to working with her again, including the possibility of future presenting shifts.”
