Today in confusing news, Ed Sheeran has joined the cast of Kurt Sutter's Bastard Executioner in a recurring role, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Sheeran, a six-time Grammy nominee, will play Sir Cormac, a character who's described as being "an ambitious and deadly protégé of a high-ranking church elder."
The series is Sutter's first since Sons of Anarchy wrapped up its seven-season run last December. The drama follows a warrior broken by the ravages of war who vows to lay down his sword but is later forced to pick up an executioner's ax instead. In the biz, we call that an upgrade! Based on the first few teasers, you can expect a lot of blood and violence and Katey Sagal wearing weird wigs? You know, typical Sutter stuff!
The Bastard Executioner premieres this fall on FX. Will you watch?
