Free TV has announced that Brett Savill has resigned as the CEO of Free TV after only 4 months in the role.
Savill said briefly: “I have formed the view that the role is not the right fit for me and I believe it is the right thing to do to step aside now so that Free TV can pursue its agenda under a new leader.”
Harold Mitchell, chair of Free TV, said: “We are disappointed Brett is not the right person for the organisation and that the appointment has not worked out. On behalf of all of the broadcasters I thank Brett for his contribution and wish him all the best for the future.”
Savill joined Free TV in October after serving as Head of Government Relations, Director of Strategy and Corporate Development, and Chief Financial Officer for BAI Communications (formerly Broadcast Australia). He replaced Julie Flynn who retired after 15 years helming the organisation.
