Elsewhere in Albert Square, Pam finally confronts Les about Claudette while Kush and Shabnam's rocky relationship gets even worse.
Kathy is back... and Phil isn’t happy to see his ‘dead’ ex-wife.
The return of the iconic EastEnders character was teased back in February as part of the soap’s 30th anniversary week.
On the live episode, audiences were stunned by her emerging out of a black cab, as she had previously been killed off in a car crash almost a decade ago.
Phil warned her to stay away, but she’s not taken his advice.
This week, when Phil gets a phone call, he heads to the Arches where he finds Kathy. She’s in a bad way and needs his help.
Later, he deposits a bag of cash in The Arches, and is put on the spot by Ben and Jay who have found Kathy’s sunglasses.
They tease him about having another woman, and when Sharon finds the mysterious ‘K’ listed on his phone, she jumps to the same conclusion.
She confronts Phil, who grabs the phone off her and heads to St Pancras where he’s arranged to meet Kathy.
Sharon goes to her old mate Ian, and they follow Phil. Will they learn that Ian’s mother Kathy is still alive!?
The details of her situation is shrouded in secrecy.
We know it has something to do with her estranged husband Gavin Sullivan (played by Just Good Friends star Paul Nicholas) , and there will be more twists to come.
A show insider tells us: “Kathy will be back this autumn, but what are she and Phil hiding? Where have Kathy and Gavin been? And why is Gavin being kept in the dark?”
Pam finally puts Les on the spot over Claudette 'friendship'
Pam has shown the patience of a saint with Les and his mysterious behaviour. And so have we!
So it’s good news that there’s some plot development this week.
Les is delighted when his wife returns home. But then she demands to know what happened between him and Claudette.
He admits that he used her for a shoulder to cry on when their son Lawrie died. Later, Pam realises she still needs more from Les.
So she asks him whether he has ever slept with Claudette?
Will Pam get the answer she wants?
Oh Shabnam. This really isn'y going to work out, is it?
Shabnam and Kush are having what is known as a ‘Band Aid’ baby. Kush secretly loves another, and Shabnam knows he really doesn’t want her.
So it’s no surprise that she thinks the worst of Kush when he says he’s having his stag do abroad.
But she is stunned to find that it has all been a cover-up. Kush was pretending he was going away in order to spend that time decorating the nursery instead.
Just as the pair are having one of their (rare) nice moments, in whirls mother-in-law Carmel…
