Season 3 Episode 12
"Looking Out for Stateville"
With the help of Voight's former cellmate, Intelligence goes after one of Chicago's biggest drug kingpins.
Using intelligence gained from Voight's (Jason Beghe) former cellmate, Eddie Little (guest star Clancy Brown), the team makes a series of daring raids on known drug compounds in the hopes of snaring one of Chicago's biggest cocaine dealers. The operation is successful until a fake FBI agent targets Little once his confidential informant status is blown, forcing Little to kill the "agent." To cover Little's tracks, Voight stages the crime scene to make it look like Little's girlfriend fired the shots. Lindsay (Sophia Bush) takes the girlfriend and her daughter under her wing to make sure they are protected until everything shakes out. When Antonio (Jon Seda) questions Voight about why he feels he owes a debt to Little, Voight relates that Little was his protector in prison, and saved his life on numerous occasions.
After several successful raids, the team goes after their biggest target - a cocaine dealer they've had in their sights for years. With Little arranging a deal and with Voight posing as a crooked cop, Intelligence is able to take the dealer into custody. The plan goes awry when Little takes Voight by gunpoint and attempts to walk off with the money from the deal - nearly $1 million. Antonio, sensing a trap, hid in Little's truck and is able to take him into custody without incident. Breaking policy, and after Lindsay's urging, the confidential informant reward is given to Little's girlfriend and her daughter.
Meanwhile, Burgess (Marina Squerciati) calls off her engagement with Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) after it becomes clear he's got cold feet about getting married.
