Season 3 Episode 8
"Forget My Name"
A narcotics tip from an NSA informant puts Intelligence at the center of a shadowy case; Atwater interferes in an arrest for a mentor.
Following up on a tip from an NSA informant, Intelligence investigates what's believed to be an impending drug deal. Instead, the discovery of a murdered body points to the theft of a set of high-tech computer chips - a situation that could have dire consequences for national security should the chips fall into the wrong hands. Upon further investigation, Intelligence finds out that the high-tech theft was the work of the wife of the murder victim, and that the two of them were employees for the company where the chips originated. A sting operation brings the woman and a co-conspirator to justice, and the chips are returned to their rightful place.
Roman (Brian Geraghty), still reeling from the loss of his young leukemia victim friend, is forced to take action when the boy's alcoholic father starts harassing the boy's mother.
At the behest of a new mentor whose son was arrested for drug possession, Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) steps in and gets the son released from jail. Unfortunately, the son later gets arrested on the same charge, leaving Atwater uncertain as to what to do next. Will he step in again, and risk everything for his powerful new mentor - or, as Burgess (Marina Squerciati) says, "do the right thing," and send the boy to jail?
