Carson Daly is set to fill in for Billy Bush as co-host during his indefinite suspension from the “Today” show.
“The Voice” host will appear on Tuesday’s show while NBC News executives decide about Bush’s future on the show, the Los Angeles Times reported.
It is not yet known how long Daly will step into Bush’s shoes in the wake of the shocking 2005 video that captured lewd conversations with Republican nominee Donald Trump that has rocked both the political and entertainment worlds.
“I know we’ve all been deeply troubled by the revelations of the past 48 hours,” Noah Oppenheim, executive producer of the “Today” show, wrote in a memo to staff Sunday.
“Let me be clear — there is simply no excuse for Billy’s language and behavior on that tape. NBC has decided to suspend Billy, pending further review of this matter.”
On Friday, The Washington Post published a video tape of Trump on a hot mic boasting about kissing, groping and having sex with women, saying that “when you’re a star, they let you do anything … I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything,” he said. “Grab ‘em by the p—y.”
Bush is heard throughout the tape agreeing with Trump as he made disparaging remarks about a married woman, and even egging him on. It was later revealed that the woman in question was then “Access” co-host Nancy O’Dell.
