Amazon has acquired upcoming AMC martial-arts drama Into the Badlands for the U.K. and will make it available exclusively to its Amazon Prime members in Britain, the company said Friday.

Amazon secured the U.K. streaming rights to the series from Entertainment One Television, with each episode available to Amazon Prime members after it airs in the U.S. The first epsiode will be available in the U.K. on Nov. 16, following the show's Nov. 15 debut on AMC in the U.S.

“We’re delighted to announce that we’re bringing another world-class TV series from AMC exclusively to our Amazon Prime customers here in the U.K.,” said Chris Bird, film & TV strategy director, Amazon Instant Video UK. "Into the Badlands takes audiences on a cinematic journey like they have never experienced before, through a post-apocalyptic future, where stylishly choreographed fight scenes and a thrilling storyline of the pursuit of power, freedom and destiny will have audiences hooked from the first scene."

"We're delighted to be expanding our existing relationship with Amazon on Into the Badlands, which was much sought-after when we launched it at MIPCOM," said Stuart Baxter, president, eOne Television International.

Set in a devastated future world controlled by powerful feudal barons, the show tells the story of a ruthless warrior (Daniel Wu, Tai Chi Zero) and a young boy (Aramis Knight, The Dark Knight Rises) who embark on a spiritual odyssey across a dangerous land. The Badlands, as they are known, is controlled by rival barons who have a stronghold on all resources and enforce their rule through loyal soldiers called Clippers. Wu portrays Sunny who has risen through the ranks to become Head Clipper and trusted advisor to the merciless Quinn (Marton Csokas, The Lord of the Rings).
