Seven had a daytime share of 17.2% with Nine at 15.2%. ABC’s two channels (ABC TV + ABC News 24) combined for a total audience share of 17.4%. 3.5 million metro viewers dipped into ABC TV/News 24 coverage across the day.
ABC News Digital also achieved its highest-ever number of visitors with 5.1 million visitors to the online site. The previous record was for the Sydney siege coverage at 3.5 million.
ABC News Digital also posted its highest ever visits result, with 6.9 million visits, 46% of them from a mobile device. A live blog achieved record traffic during a single day, with 3.7 million page views.
